About IngredientWiki
IngredientWiki is a free encyclopedia of supplement and skincare ingredients for the US market. Our goal is simple: when you flip a bottle over and read the label, you should be able to understand every line of it.
What we do
We research and explain the ingredients in popular American nutritional supplements and skincare products — where each ingredient comes from, what it does, how much is typically used, what the side effects are, and how it is regulated. Every page is built around the same structure so you always know where to look.
What we cover
Vitamins and minerals like vitamin D3, magnesium, zinc, and iron; amino acids and proteins like creatine and collagen peptides; botanicals such as ashwagandha and turmeric; and the skincare workhorses — niacinamide, retinol, hyaluronic acid, salicylic acid, ceramides, and more.
How we work
Each ingredient page is drafted from authoritative primary sources, fact-checked by our editorial team, and published with a visible review date. Benefits are rated by the strength of the underlying evidence, and every page links to its references so you can check the sources yourself.
- Primary sources first: NIH Office of Dietary Supplements, PubMed, FDA, and the Cosmetic Ingredient Review
- Evidence ratings on every benefit: strong, moderate, or emerging
- Published and review dates visible on every page
- No medical advice — education only, with a clear disclaimer
